Here are some friendly reminders to assist all our residents and to prepare for a safe winter.

NOTICE

Ordinance 10-1-21(c) – “Alternate Side Street Parking”  Effective November 15 to April 15 from 12:00 am to 8:00 am vehicles need to be parked on the odd-number side of the street on the odd-numbered days and on the even-number side of the street on the even-numbered days.

Residents need to keep in mind that the City may declare a street emergency prohibiting parking on all city streets during times of expected heavy snow fall.  Notification will be made on the local radio station 106.1 the city’s web site and the Nixle notification program offered by the police department.

Junked Vehicles on Private Property, 10-5-8

Storage of Automobiles Restricted. No disassembled, inoperable, unlicensed, junked or wrecked motor vehicles, truck bodies, tractors, trailers, farm machinery, vehicle parts or tires, or appliances shall be stored upon private residential property or unenclosed within a building upon nonresidential property within the City of Adams for a period exceeding ten (10) days unless it is in connection with an authorized business enterprise located in a properly zoned area maintained in such a manner as to not constitute a public nuisance.

Curfew, 11-5-1

Curfew Established. It shall be unlawful for any person under eighteen (18) years of age to be on foot, bicycle or in any type of vehicle on any public street, avenue, highway, road, alley, park school grounds, place of amusement and entertainment, cemetery, playground, public building, or any other public place in the City of Adams between the hours of 11:00 p.m. and 5:00 a.m. unless accompanied by his or her parent or guardian.
